OUR
MISSION
Heartland Christian Academy’s mission is excellence in teaching academics in a Christian environment. Through the vision and guidance of Dr. Gary Smith, this K-3 through 12th grade school has grown from a small circle of students in 1991, to a thriving campus that imparts dignity and esteem to each student. With the Holy Bible as our foundation for learning, Heartland Christian Academy focuses on the vital areas of academics, self-discipline, respect for others, spiritual growth, respect for authority, a patriotism for God and country.
OUR
GOAL
The PRIMARY
GOAL of providing quality Christian education at Heartland Christian
Academy is the development of Godly character. HCA recognizes that
the teaching of God’s commandments is itself a command given
by god first and foremost to parents as indicated in Deuteronomy 6:7….
“And thou shalt teach them (commandments of the Lord) diligently
unto thy children, and thou shalt talk of them when thou sittest in
thine house….”The Christian school, in addition to hone
and church, is a place where the nurturing process of Christian education
occurs.
The
SECOND GOAL of Heartland Christian Academy is to
function as an outreach to the children, leading families to a saving
knowledge of Jesus Christ. “And that from a child thou hast
known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation
through faith which is in Jesus Christ.”
(II Timothy 3:15)
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The foundation
of Christian education is the Word of God. From God’s Word,
the Biblical principals stand against the godless philosophies of
humanism, materialism, and situational ethics. (Collosians 2:8) Christian
education is fist and foremost the responsibility of the Christian
home. Heartland Christian Academy endeavors to assist the home in
this process, rather than substitute for what should occur in the
home. The school then acts in cooperation with the home and the church
to produce the Christ-likeness in its students.
The home and the church must contribute to student growth, by establishing
attitudes which encourage respect, integrity, and self-discipline.
The success of the student is therefore dependant upon the student,
the home, the school and the church. However, the ultimate responsibility
for the Christian educations of the children remains with the parents.
CURRICULUM
Heartland
Christian Academy employs the use of curricula that is Christ-centered,
academically sound and foundational in nature. Publishers include:
ABEKA, Bob Jones, ACSI, and Saxon. As Heartland Christian Academy
continues to grow and develop, and as God leads, other curricula
will be employed that meets the same Biblical standards.
